He's not here, he's at blueblood Michigan State!Good thing we didn't hire him, he would've been such a settle.
There are a few people on this board who prove daily how amazingly stupid they are. You are firmly in that group.Meh!
Truly one (1) of the great overachievers. There are a few people on this board who prove daily how amazingly stupid they are. You are firmly in that group.
At one point I thought that there was a punchers chance Izzo would coach in Minnesota. For the Timberwolves, when his good friend Flip Saunders rejoined the franchise.Good thing we didn't hire him, he would've been such a settle.
There are blueblood Michigan State because Tom Izzo is there. He's not here, he's at blueblood Michigan State!
ummm.....MSU was decent before he got there but he has made them into the blue blood they are today. In no world is nearly 30 consecutive trips to the NCAA tournament....meh.He's not here, he's at blueblood Michigan State!
Jud Heathcote and Magic Johnson? There are blueblood Michigan State because Tom Izzo is there.
Which was followed by 5 years of not making the tournament. MSU had a lot of success under Heathcote but Izzo has taken things to another stratosphere.Jud Heathcote and Magic Johnson?
less talent?Izzo wins more with less talent than most big time programs.
Yeah, no. one player does not make a blueblood. Indiana St is no blue blood. Neither are the Houston Cougars from the Phi Slamma period.Jud Heathcote and Magic Johnson?
Not spectacular but was in the NCAA's in 4 of his final 5 years with a national title.Yeah, no. one player does not make a blueblood. Indiana St is no blue blood. Neither are the Houston Cougars from the Phi Slamma period.
Winning a tough schedule year in, and year out, does do that.
Heathcote had two great years a decade apart. Other than that he was not spectacular. Not a bad coach or even mediocre.
Just review the year by year records. It’s undeniable when seen all at once.
Michigan State Basketball History
30 years 16 sweet 16’s or better. A final four every 10 years on average. I’d take it and call our coach Mr March. Not spectacular but was in the NCAA's in 4 of his final 5 years with a national title.
That was a hell of nice thing to step into. Izzo has one title, so does Heathcote.
Izzo.......Meh
Do you really consider Michigan St a blue blood? They overachieve with lesser talent but don’t quite put them in the category below. There are blueblood Michigan State because Tom Izzo is there.
Well, I didn’t really define that, it was defined by the op. Take it up with him.Do you really consider Michigan St a blue blood? They overachieve with lesser talent but don’t quite put them in the category below.
Duke, Kentucky, Kansas, North Carolina and now UConn.
I used to think Izzo was a clean coach….Meh!
Yeah my bad.Well, I didn’t really define that, it was defined by the op. Take it up with him.
I suppose it wasn’t horrible to step into. They just made it Heathcote’s last years. Not spectacular but was in the NCAA's in 4 of his final 5 years with a national title.
That was a hell of nice thing to step into. Izzo has one title, so does Heathcote.
Izzo.......Meh
#1 in our hearts!Truly one (1) of the great overachievers.
A woman scorned?I used to think Izzo was a clean coach….
But I lost all respect for him after all his dealings with covering up an investigation into his program back during the Nassar investigation. Nothing good to say about him as a person!
Ummmmmm........now we are talking!I used to think Izzo was a clean coach….

But this isn't what you started the thread with here. Let's not move the goalposts. Izzo is a complete ass on the sideline. He's a grump. He deserves a T almost every trip up the floor. None of this is to say he isn't a good basketball coach. He is top of the line and has been for some time. I can't stand the guy, but I can admit he gets guys to play and win. That is not "meh".Ummmmmm........now we are talking!
Izzo will get in next year and do nothing with it yet again. But this isn't what you started the thread with here. Let's not move the goalposts. Izzo is a complete ass on the sideline. He's a grump.
