Between disgruntled old timers that don't want to take it outside, people budgeting due to lost jobs and the economy, people pissed about the way the season ended last year.......... are there enough people who will not get season tickets right now to allow me to slip in there???? I feel like I don't have a chance in hell, but who knows???

What are my chances? (30/70, 40/60, 50/50, etc)

I have no idea, but I do know that I am #13 and I like my chances a lot!!!

anyone know how many people are on the waiting list? just curius...

I think you are ok. As I understand it they didn't sell all 37K season tickets (50K - 10K students - 3K visitors). They started the wait list once they had season tickets for all non-priority seats (i.e. everything except between the 20's). Corporate sponsors will take up some of the remaining demand, wait list will fill in the rest. At least that's how I understood it...other folks have heard different things.

I'm impressed the wait list is that long. My brother was in the 80s, so I had no point of reference for how many people are in the queue.

The waitlist was over 1,800 about on Feb 20th per the Ticket Office. I assume that means 1,800 accounts which would equate to maybe 4-5,000 tickets I would guess as there is a limit of 4.

GoAUpher....

you seemed to have changed your tune. You lit into me a couple of weeks ago when I stated that TCF was nowhere near sold out, saying I didn't know what I was talking about. Now you seem to be saying that they stopped selling season tickets at around 30,000 (the approximate number of nonpreferred seats) - a statement that I would agree with, BTW.

Am I misreading your position, or are we in agreement now?

We have the ability to buy 6 seats this year, but we're only getting 4. Be happy to add you to our group for a nominal fee.

Thanks for the offer PlayHosea. My only question is this, I was on the fence about the season tiks until they scheduled USC, now I feel the $275 (or whatever it is) is dang near worth the price of the season tiks. Since the big reason I am going for the season tiks is for the game (in 2010), would I even be able to transfer the 2 tiks into my name? I'm sure your a good guy and all and would renew them for me, but you just never know, and I wouldn't want to tell you to get the tiks for me if I was able to end up getting them in my name (if 1,400 on the waiting list works out). Let me know if the name transfer is possible, but I thought I've been told its not? Can anyone shed some light on this? If its possible I'm in!!!

I lit into based info that was wrong (boo me) and I believe I admitted as much in that thread. If not, then I will now. Sorry that I went off. My bad. :)

I still don't agree with your contention that TCF is nowhere near sold out but I will admit that I'm not sure how the numbers add up either. I think some of the "gap" is likely filled by the suits from corporate accounts but I don't see that making up the whole difference.

No doubt seats promised to corporate donors account for some of the difference. Maybe they're holding out some seats for faculty, too.

I thought the price for season tickets was always pretty good, even in the dome. I don't get to pick my seats until mid-May though and I'm right around the 50-percentile when it comes to the seat picking order, so I would guess you'll have a long wait to see if you get in. Best of luck.

Ooh...good call. Still wondering if they make up the difference. I guess the real question is if the 1,800 on the wait list is tickets or accounts. If its tickets I think you will end up being right and we'll see approx 3-5K seats open come Sept. If its accounts I'm thinking we'll see sellout-2K seats open.

Personally, I have no idea whether or not you will get tickets, but I would be shocked if the stadium is anything but sold out come Sept 12.

Edit - this proves it. "Esten said they have already sold all 40,000 non-student tickets, and he hopes the 10,000 student season tickets will sell out after they go on sale later this month ."

A quote from the Daily

you have about a good of chance of getting tickets, as studwell has of getting a girlfriend he doesn't have to pay for. good luck.

"Let's take it outside" what an awesome marketing statement for the opening of TCF.....

Waitlist Just Under 1,400?

My buddy called the ticket office last week and was told the list is just under 1,400. Has anyone else called lately?
