Is there any sort of official Gopher football event in Champaign for the Illinois game?

I'm heading down with a group and there's no GLC tailgate so I'm looking for some other Gopher fans.

Did they can the Sota Socials?

I got my tickets the other day and NOTHING was included with them as far as events surrounding the game. Seemed kind of strange.

I'll probably be driving down there too. We could always just go to Kam's.

Hey everyone, there's still a game this week...

Never mind, there's no point trying.

I will be heading to Champaign for the first time this weekend.

I told a coworker about how I will be going to the game, and his reply was, "I'm sorry dude".

And such is the life of a Gopher football fan.

YA! What's the scoop? My first trip to Champaign as well....Is there a sota social? If so, which hotel and what time? Is there a GLC tailgate? If so, where?

I am going, and bringing 16 with me. Where is everyone planning on tailgating? We are staying at a hotel north of 74.

We bought a group of tix from an Illinois season ticket holder, which included a parking pass in Lot 46. We were in Lot 49 Game Day parking two years ago. I like the tailgating setup in Champaign - reminds me of Penn State, only on a much smaller scale...and without the scenery.

'Sota Socials are lame. Waitresses at Cowboy Monkey are not.

Lot 49 vs Research Lots

Have you tailgated in the Research lots? They are all south of lot 33. I have heard they are a good time, but was wondering if anyone has gone there?
