Yeah he does. Really makes me wish he would have landed here though.
 

The talent on these two squads is translating tonight. Entertaining game so far.

Announcers talking about Cory Joseph and...

...they mention his cousin that plays at Syracuse rather than the brother that (except for right now) plays at Minnesota??? It seemed odd that the went to the extended family example rather than the sibling, although it is Vitale & Schulman.
 


Cory makes pull up jumper with 24 seconds left to put the longhorns up by 2 with 24 seconds left. After a layup by J Richmond ties it up, Cory comes down and misses step back jumper for the win. heading to OT. Go Illini

I've only watched CJ play a few times, but I just don't see how he was rated quite that highly. Is he really THAT much better than Devoe? He certainly looks to be a better defender and dribbler, but I just can't ever see him dominating the way a you'd expect a rivals top 10 player to dominate. He has a higher ceiling than Devoe but I feel like to be ranked that high as a point guard you need more elite quickness, athleticism, driving ability, or shooting ability. Not all, but at least one. He's a very good all around player but it just seems that his hype was a little high. I'm not sure that he would really outplay Nolen that much if we played them. Not that this is everything, but I feel like Nolen would be able to drive by CJ much easier than CJ would be able to drive by Nolen. Again, I haven't seen him play that much but he just looks like a slightly quicker, more athletic Devoe.

Agree 100%. No way is that kid one and done like people were saying. He is solid and a smart point guard but he lacks explosion from what I've seen from him.
