Ill informed bloggers tick me off

wow! I would never have thought Westbrook was afraid of contact but then if that's what they said it must be true.

Apart from the rather egregious misperceptions of Nolan and Westbrook, I thought it was a pretty good discussion. They spent a lot of time belaboring the obvious point that Hoffarber is a fairly one-dimensional scoring threat, but I would take exception to describing him as a "one trick pony." A one-trick scoring pony, yes, but that ignores his heady, steady all-around game that explains the amount of playing time that he gets. You could make the argument that he "showed up" and forced the Spartans to account for him at all times, which should have opened up other opportunities for the Gophers. What shut him down was the Gophers' inability to develop any transition game, which is where he gets most of his open looks.

I generally agree with ofergopher on this one.

I will say that I though even though Hoff didn't contribute much in the points column, he did rebound well (5 boards in 28 minutes).

Their criticism of Blake got really ridiculous after three paragraphs. Obviously, he offensive game is almost exclusively threes, but a glorified role player? Since joining the starting line-up--at which point I think it is obvious Blake turned a corner--he is average 16 ppg, 4.5 rpg, and 2 apg, undoubtedly some good numbers. Yes, he relies on threes, and yes, he has been slowed down by two of the best defenses in the conference and around the nation. But it's pretty unfair reduce him to a one-trick pony and a role player.

I read some of their other stuff on the Big Ten and I'll just say I don't really see eye-to-eye with these guys on most things. Some factual errors are there, too, and I get the impression that these guys may not be the hardest-working bloggers in town.

Agreed. Interesting & somewhat aggravating read.

Blake is a 3 point specialist on a great team aka an elite 8 squad. (which the gophers would of had a chance to be this year if it wasn't for suspensions to our 2 best big men)
