We could've been privy to Kansas-Ohio State instead of that abomination. :cool02:

No doubt in my mind the 4 best teams in the country were Ohio State, Kansas, Duke, and maybe Uconn as the 4th. One thing I love about college football, though the BCS can be pretty messed up at times....you never get a team that is simply mediocre playing in the final game.

Butler beat VCU (a team that could have easily missed the tourney), Florida (one of the weaker 2 seeds in recent memory resume wise), Wisconsin (who forgot to show up and was on pace for about 40 points with 5 minutes left), Pitt (a 1 seed, but a team that lost 4 of its last 8 games with two of the wins coming against South Florida and UNC Ashville),and ODU (beat a 9 seed at the buzzer).

Great coaching job by BS. He took what was like a team that was in the 30-40 range in terms of talent and brought them to the final 2.

If we had the BCS we also wouldn't have March Madness as we know it. Brackets. Buzzer-beaters that actually mean something. Cinderella stories. The Sweet 16, Elite 8 or even the Final Four.

Sure, that was one ugly title game. But let's not invoke the BCS here...a tournament that was so dramatic top to bottom was going to have one clunker game. Happens just about every year. It's just too bad it happened at the end, in the championship.
