No, this will probably be the best team they will have under Bo. Everything just came together. I don't think they get back to this level.

Maybe if we can convince Bo Ryan to retire from UW then coach here from age 69 until he expires, then yes I would agree. I would agree to cheer for UW Monday if that would get Ryan to coach at Minnesota since the guy produces results, serious results.

I suspect a 75 year old Bo Ryan is somewhat better than coaches at Minnesota post 1999.

Bo Ryan with Alzheimer's is a better coach than coaches at Minnesota post 1999.

+1 He'll probably retire in a few years anyway, their success hasn't paid off on the recruiting trail, and they will likely lose arguably their 3 best players after this season. I don't think Bo will get them to this level again.

Bo Ryan's winning percentage in the Big Ten is some incredible number that I will look up later. Not a whole lot changes from year to year, and I am pretty sure when one dorky Frank K walked on to campus everyone started getting worked up right? , No, so next year they probably would be OK, since he probably has a couple more Frank's lined up. Wisconsin with a slightly lesser level of talent is still going to win, just not to this level.

When Tubby took a team into Madison and beat Bo with pressing, fast breaks and dunks I was real excited. The problem was that Johnson graduated, the other guy we had with some hops and guts left to be with his ill sister in Chicago, and the last tough guard Tubby had (#20 from Arizona) graduated. The rest was all downhill for a variety of reasons, mainly surrounding Tubby and his ability to relate to the players he recruited and Maturi.

I really thought we had Wisconsin on the ropes back in 2010. That was all a Tubby mirage. , but the reality is Bo Ryan's System endures and absorbs the loss of a player or two. The lows are not very lows, and apparently after the last two years the highs are very high.

Not even if he retired and cured cancer.

**** wisconsin.

Will never ever cheer for the skunks.
And I still think kominsky travels on every one of his big stride moves to the bucket.

We should all hope Hayes goes pro because of this run. That is best case scenario. No Kaminsky, Gasser, Jackson, Dukan, Dekker, and Hayes. Then add in the fact there's no player taller than 6'8 on the roster and maybe we can get a W at the barn next year.

This. He's said countless times that as long as he has kids that want to learn the game, he'll continue to teach. It's not just about National Championships for him.
Why are you posting on a Minnesota message board when your team is playing in the national championship?

He's like some coaches (e.g. Gagliardi) who work hard but don't burn out and can truly continue to coach until they physically can't do it any more. It's sustainable and, for guys like him, enjoyable.

As far as the O.P. goes, whether Wisconsin wins or Bo retires has nothing to do with whether I cheer for them or not. I enjoyed both semifinal games, mostly because they were great games, and I'm a basketball fan. I think it would have been less enjoyable for me if I'd gotten all worked up with either Wisconsin or Kentucky hate. I stand to harvest $40 if Duke wins, but even so I have no idea how I'm going to feel Monday night. Just planning on watching what I think will be a heck of a game.

Why should I want BO to retire, whether the Badgers win or lose. He has done one hell of a job at Wisconsin.

I admire that.

Not one NBA scout has Hayes going in the 1st round

I have thought that Hayes looked overmatched against Arizona and Kentucky. When guarded by a big, athletic guy he struggles. In college big, athletic guys are reserved mostly for the blue bloods, but in the NBA every team has 4 or 5. He added the 3pt shot to his game, which allowed him to score, but it's not nearly enough to play in the NBA at this point.

Hayes is a tweener in the NBA, at least right now. Not quick enough or good enough a shooter to play the 3, and not big enough to play the 4.

Go Gophers!!

doesn't matter. ain't happening. I've been hearing Wainwright's Dead Skunk In the Middle of the Road in my head all day. pretty sure it's an omen, or my meds are off again

What a bass ackward poll. I don't want Bo to retire. I want the Gophers to become good enough to beat Bo and his teams consistently every season.

It's such a Minnesota thing to want opponents to drop down to the level of the Gophers or lower rather than wanting to rise up to the level that our opponents have attained.

From everything I can see, Bo has built the program with honesty and integrity (one can always be wrong about that as other programs have shown...UNC). He has a system and he's true to following it no matter the opinions of others. Hard to hate that no matter the disdain for border rival.

I want the B1G to win another national title. It's been awhile in basketball and this is a good time for the B1G to get the monkey off the back. I can take the obnoxious behavior of a few Bad-ger fans. Best way to quiet them is to become good enough to beat Bo and his teams on a yearly basis.
