If Gophers win 3 out of last 4 games ...

When is the last time we've had the Pig and the Axe?

Last 4 games?
Iowa, Illinois, Wisconsin and Who? (bowl game?)

Even if we go 3-0 versus The above teams, we'd be 4-4. In my opinion, that would make it the greatest season sine 2014.

If wins and losses are all that matter to you why are you even a fan? When was the last time we beat Iowa and Wisconsin in the same year? Its been at least 11 years.

I believe it was the late 80's the last time we won the Axe and Floyd. That would be great and it would make me happy with the season, but it wouldn't give me the same level of satisfaction as seeing the gophs play on New Years Day or the ten win team Mason put together in 03. If we do win our last four or three of four I'll consider it better than two years ago given the circumstances and the assumption of quality of wins we would get.

Don't get me wrong. I love our trophy games. And I would LOVE to see us finally beat Wisconsin.
I just don't think a 7-5 (4-4) season could be considered our best year since 1967.
Last year, we won back the Jug, beat a fairly good Nebraska team for a 2nd consecutive year, throttled Iowa and played in a New Year's Bowl.
In 2003, we went 10-3 (including beating the badgers) and finished the season ranked.
I think both of those years would be better than this year could be. I am open to changing my mind, though. If we were to win the last 3 AND beat a good bowl opponent AND end up ranked, I might consider that the best since '67.

4-4 would be big

4-4 in conference would give Gophs 13 Big Ten wins in three years.

Mase had 12 from 2003-05.

Holtz-Gutey-Gutey had 12 from 85-87.

76-77-78 with Stoll was 12.

71-72-73 with Bierman, Stoll, Stoll was 13.

But since when has WI and IA been this good?

based on the last two games, they can easily beat IA and WI--IA is NOT as good as their record, very favorable schedule--same with WI, very favorable, in fact I think this is UW's worst team in years, if we don't get the axe this year, it may be a while longer

Like my Dad always said, "If the dog wouldn't have stopped to take a leak, we'd have rabbit on the table." Sorry, no way. Not with this team.

So let's steamroll Iowa, Illinois, Wisconsin, Bowl opponent
