Opposing Fans in the Stadium
Its laughable reading about all your solutions to keeping opposing fans out of the stadium. Yeah, it would be great if the stadium was full of gopher fans, but until there is enough interest by gopher fans to actually sell out the damn stadium, there will be opposing fans at the games. I've been to about 3/4 of the other stadiums/arenas in the B10, and paid as little as $3 for a ticket when their team is doing crappy, and over $100 for a ticket when their team is doing well. If someone wants to go to a game, regardless of who they are cheering for, they can get in...its just a matter of how much they want to spend. Most clowns from out of state won't pay the big bucks or won't make the drive unless they have tickets in hand. For a few years, the novelty of the new stadium will sell out the stadium. From there on, if the team is winning, gopher fans will buy tickets, and there will be few opposing fans. If they suck, it will be like the last 20 years, minus the 15,000 fewer seats in TCF compared to the dome. Its simple supply and demand. BTW... I'm THAT GUY at Camp Randall, Kinnick, Welsh-Ryan, Carver Hawkeye, Kohl, etc. who's decked out in gold, in the front row or student section or whatever and cheering for my gophers, while the hometown fans swear at me and tell me to sit down. Intead of bit**ing about opposing fans coming to our stadium/arena, how about you return the favor. And if the gophers would just win for once, other fans outnumbering us at our own arena would not be an issue. That's the end of my rant.
