I wonder how many will show up without tickets?

I have to imagine there are some people who will show up to the game, not realizing it is sold out, expecting that because it is a non-conference game they will be able to just walk up to the window and buy tickets or buy them cheap from a scalper.

You would have to be living in a cave not to have gotten the word yet, but there are always some people who remain unaware of things. I can imagine their faces when they expected to get a ticket at a discount from a scalper, and instead have to pay $150+ per ticket if they want to get in!

I was looking a picture taken from the student section of the stadium, and looking towards the open end of the horseshoe, I noticed there is a building that looks like it would offer a decent view of the field. Any idea what building that is?

$100 will get you in. Tickets were available all week for $100 and slightly less in many transactions on the major ticket sites.

I got some pretty good seats (Section 208, Row 8) for $100.

I got seats in the visitor section (unknowingly) for around $100.

i wouldn't sell my tickets for anything, except a 100% guarantee we would go to the rose bowl if i did.

Also just got tickets (unknowingly) in the visitors section for 100.

I think you guys will find that the visitors section will be at least 50% Gopher fans this Saturday. It appears as if a lot ot he AF tickets went to brokers.

What site did you guys pick up your tickets at or where are you seeing tickets available?

I got my tickets from a post on Craigslist. There's also stubhub.com. TicketCity.com had a few at decent prices.

I used ticketsnow.com seemed to be more reasonable than stubhub was at the time. I was also several beers deep so there is that to consider.

tickets bought at kick off will be closer to face value than you would expect. i have a lot of friends just coming to tailgate and then head to the bars since they were foolish and didnt buy season tickets with the rest of my group when i told them to.

It will be interesting what tickets will go for the day of the game. It's hard to say, a classic supply and demand situation. The closer it gets to kickoff, the more the scalpers will be willing to bargain - the tickets are worthless after the game, after all. I suppose if someone only had a very limited amount of money to spend, they could see if the scalpers had tickets left after kickoff, those tickets would be plummeting in price at that point.

My nephew is a scalper and he has over 100 tickets he will be trying to sell outside on Sat.

no offense to your nephew, but i hope his company had to buy all of those tickets on the secondary/after-market and were not able to purchase them directly from the U of M ticket office as season-tickets. hope the U of M ticket office has/or soon does have a set-up where they will not sell large allotments of season tickets to obvious broker/scalper types. when they do, it is only a negative as it removes those season tickets from regular gophers fans (those without a lot of gopher points) who truly wanted to buy a season ticket package for this & future years, but were left out in the end because broker/scalper companies were allowed to buy large grosses of season tickets to then turn around and re-sell them well above face value.

i guess something just seems inherently wrong about that kind of set-up, if it is allowed to go on.

I second Bronko.

I will also say that for those without tickets, tickets will be available cheap right after kick-off. Scalpers hold out like crazy and then start accepting any cash they can get. I realize this is a game you want to be in your seat way in advance but buying once games begin is the most affordable way to go.

If you are really gutsy, watch the first quarter at a nearby bar and then go searching for half price tickets.

PS You need to be comfortable that there is a possibility you won't get tickets and watch the whole game in a bar for this to be effective.

Bronko sounds like scalpers got seats through Air Force

I would expect the majority of the ticket scalpers get there hands on tickets from the away or opposing schools ticket office. That is just about the only way you would get a block of 100 tickets for face value. I think I read a post somewhere that said the majority of the the Air Force allotment was purchased by ticket brokers. This will probably be the case for the CAL game next weekend. This guy's nephew saw an opportunity to double the face value and will likely sell most of these for that or a little more on Saturday.

Since the emergence of online ticket brokers several years ago, I've noticed that their prices are almost always inflated and you are usually (not always though) better off waiting for game day and waiting close to game time to buy tickets on the street. If you don't mind not having a "sure thing" to get in, it's best to wait. I agree with other posters that tickets will be available outside for less than $100.

That said, I'd never sell mine.
