Yikes. Was it that long ago that we used to look at the positives after a game like this? Have our expectations risen that high so fast for a team that sports Tubby's first recruiting class?
IN a game most figured the Gophers would lose, the Rodents:
> gave an OSU team that has been playing lights out a really tough game on their home floor
> held the Buckeyes to 42% shooting when they'd shot 60% the last 3 games
> won the battle of the boards, AND the offensive glass
> had more assists and more blocks than the Buckeyes
> held Evan Turner to 4-for-14 shooting while he led the Buckeyes with 3 TO's
It was going to be and has been a season of growing pains, we knew that going in. Amazing how short our memories are, we also figured at the beginning of the season that scoring could be a problem, who was going to be the "go-to scorer", etc. All this has rang true.
Call it nit-picking or sour grapes but this was one in which the Gophers had almost all the breaks go against them; missing layups/dunks, not coming up with loose balls. Good grief, JWill played three minutes and SHOULD have had 4-6 points easily.
Time to regroup and take care of business against Indiana, get back on track.
