Well, it has already been 5 seasons in TCF Bank Stadium and although a couple of my seats have the rented cushion/seat back, for the other two we have brought in our UofM seat cushions for every home game.

I don't have any plans to catch a Viking game in TCF Bank Stadium. If I did, it looks like I would be leaving my seat cushions at home...

If Viking fans can order seat backs/cushions, and Gopher fans can order seat backs/cushions... how will it work? For example, we always bracket off our seats with rental seat backs on the ends and leave the two seats in between us open so we can seat our three kids there (they easily fit) if all three happen to attend the same game. Will Viking ticket holders have different seat backs, or will they all be the same maroon ones with the gold block M?? Will they remove them between Viking and Gopher games if they weren't purchased for the corresponding season ticket holder?
 

We've always paid for the seat backs (we sit in Sec 117). This year we didn't in hopes the Vikings would anti up and get them for their season ticket holders meaning we could possibly get them for free! (call me cheap! :eek:)
 

We decided to save the $40ish per seat for beer for our 4 seats. I never thought of Vikings STH purchasing seats backs. Maybe we will get a pleasant surprise.
 

Hadn't thought of this issue until now. Been getting the seat backs the last couple seasons. I can't imagine they'd invest in the labor to switch seatbacks around every Saturday evening/Sunday morning every time there are games that would call for a switch. I'd also be surprised if the Vikings would buy 10,000+ seat backs (or whatever the number would be) with their own logo for 2 seasons.

My guess, if a Vikes season tix holder wants seat backs, they can get them, but the will be emblazoned with the Gold block 'M'.
 

Issue came up in discussion with our neighbor today.

He and his brother own season Vikings tickets and our family has Gophers season tickets.

Here is the "educated guess" we came up with:

1) No seat backs are allowed as a purchase option for Vikings' season tickets located in Gopher student section (this is what he was told and that makes sense to us),
2) As a Viking season ticket holder, the Vikings offered an option of purchasing seat backs,
3) We concluded (guessed) that there is NO WAY seat backs will be taken down / put up for each game - logistically, that would be a nightmare.

So, in summary, a Vikings season ticket holder can do the following:

1) Purchase a seat back that is already bought by a Gopher season ticket holder - which we believe to be "double-dipping",

2) Purchase a seat back that is not present (purchased by VIKING season ticket holder) - this gives Gopher fans access to those seats without having to pay for their rental, or

3) Do nothing and get what you get: sit on a bleacher OR sit in the seat backs that a Gopher fan has already purchased.

We (our family), have gotten seat backs every year. I have always felt that it didn't seem right that a Vikings fan would come to a game and not pay for (at least a portion) of the seats that are purchased by Gopher fans. I guess, on the flip-side, it probably isn't right the other way either.
 


I'd be curious to know what the seat backs look like for Viking STH. From what I have hear/read, the U seems adamant that after a Viking game the field and stadium return to a Gopher stadium asap. I wouldn't be surprised if they are all the same as the present Gopher seat-backs.
 

I am bring a wrench then because if there are chair backs when I get there they are going in the garbage. I could care less about the vikings. I pay to sit there and I don not want chair backs.
 

Note to Viking haters--they are not that good and will not draw fans.

The seatbacks for the Viking will be the same maroon ones with the gold M that have been used by the Gophers since 2009. I biked past the stadium last night and stopped for a look. They're already installed for the Vikings vs. Raiders game on Friday night. As was noted, there are none in the student section. There seem to be more in the rest of the stadium than in past years due to Vikings fans renting them, but not substantially more. Granted the temporary stands in the end zone, which are chair back, obscured my view.
