Where does any coach start? So coach Kill is not the sexy choice so to speak. So what. If someone knows football and it sounds like he does that is what we need. Substance wins over flash anytime.
For some reason I have the feeling that he is going to work out better than we could ever think. Appearances can be deceiving. It is up to us fans to change our attitude.

Agreed. I like his humility and his honesty. I think the current players will eventually buy into his system. The fans might not come back right away. But I honestly think the Gophers will be a better coached football team than we've had in a long time.
 

Me too. Sounds like he can coach - I hope that he gets a stud recruiter that can bring in some talent and let Jerry "coach em up". Ski U Mah!
 


I just watched the press conference and what I like is he doesn't have the arrogance or smugness of Mason nor the snake oil salesman persona of Brewster. If possible, he came across as humble yet confident. Good start. It's way too early to draw any type of conclusion but for the opening press conference, he pretty much nailed it.

Back to reality though....Maturi hired him. Still skeptical he'll work out.
 


Coach Kill is certainly not the sexy name, but I think he will be a good head coach when its all said and done.

Will he be able to take us to a Rose Bowl every ten years like Wisconsin or Iowa? That is to be determined.
