Kevin Noreen... a 4 star on scout and a 92 on espn... have we offered him? if we havent why not? if we have why isnt he more interested? he looks great.

You Forgot These Also

MN Mr Basketball and all-time leading HS scorer in MN.

The Gophers recruited him this spring. He showed little or no interest.

You don't offer the latter.

Pretty sure the lack of interest was mutual. JohnnyGopher said the staff didn't think he was athletic enough, and most people who have seen him play agree.

To be honest, whoever gets noreen is getting a very overrated player. Maybe in 4 years he will be legit, but right now he is raw, skinny, not athletic, plus hes more of a center, which we have 4 of.

False, you're a little mixed up on the lack of interest. I've watched Noreen play a few times, he did not jump out as High Major D1 talent even against 1A teams.

Tubby showed no interest in the beginning and the kid didn't like it. Now, even if Tubby wanted him, the kid has moved on.

I've seen Noreen play a couple of times and I was never impressed with the kid. I really hope he turns out well (especially if he ends up in maroon and gold), but the little I saw of him, I wasn't impressed at all. That said, much greater basketball minds, have been really impressed with him. So he really must be the kind of talent that isn't universally appreciated or he is overrated.

Question:

Does the state university have an unofficial obligation to offer the state's all-time leading scorer?

I'm old school enough to think this question is not so easily dismissed.

Not when he broke the record running up the score against 1A High School talent.
