Missing wide open receiver in the end zone or throwing it out of the end zone on 4th down.

That jump ball call was the worst play you could call at that time. How about a quick slant or a curl? Hell, even do a draw!
Shortell needs to plant both feet in the pocket and THROW THE BALL! Stop running around like your Roethlisberger and THROW!

Man what a waste! Shortell is just terrible point blank if he can complete open throws or give a WR a chance he needs to be benched, NOW. He can't run and if he can't pass what is he....

4th down....not even close. You have to at least put the ball somewhere where the receiver can make a play on the ball. He had time it was just a terrible throw, especially when you factor in it was 4th down.

4th down. It was a bonehead play. Whether the pass is incomplete or intercepted, you at least have to give your receiver a chance. Either way, the ball goes to the other team.

Bingo. Would much rather see an interception in the EZ instead of a well overthrown ball that almost ends up in the stands.

The only way the pass could have been any more overthrown is if he had actually picked out a fan in the stands he was trying to throw to. As it was, it was so poorly thrown, somebody could actually make the argument that he was trying to find someone he saw in the stands and it wouldn't even sound that ludicrous based on how the ball was thrown. Perhaps the worst attempt at a fourth down pass to the endzone I have ever seen.

Everyone knew (and Kill confirmed after the game) it was supposed to be a jump-ball to McDonald. Afterall, this is supposed to be McDonald's specialty (ala a young Randy Moss). However, Shortell throws it like a deep fade route as if he was worried about double-coverage from the safety or something (which wasn't there) and had to put it high to the flag. I turned to my kid right away and said "even I could have thrown that better!!". It's 4th down, you have to give him the jump-ball, and above all else make sure it's in play!! Who cares about an interception there anyway, - the game was over once it goes over his head. (Of course, we threw that telegraphed slant-in on 3rd down to Barker, which everyone knows we run to him in that situation. And this was all precipitated by the fumbled snap on 2nd down, or we should have easily been able to run it in with the 3 downs we had to use.)

I wonder if the ball was wet or something.

That pass was fully 5 yards out of bounds.

Judging by Max's reaction, it was just a crap throw.
