Although I am frustrated with Brewster and the fact that it is year 4 and don't see significant progress at the moment that Brew is going to turn this thing around, I can only hope he does turn the corner this year in a big way. I really am not looking forward to another coaching change and starting over and having to wait another 4 years or so to see if this time it will really change.

Are you assuming it would take at least 4 years for a new coach to show significant progress.

I guess that is up for debate, maybe I need to look at Mason and what he did the first 4 years he was here. Did he have any signature wins by that point, we all know Brew hasn't yet.

hope is not a strategy-a good coach could take the talent we have and win 6-7 with ease in yr one

I think a good coach could more or less hit the ground running. Probably one down year, but if there is a change whoever comes in is going to have some talent to work with.

We're fans. Hope is what we do. We don't play, we don't coach, we don't decide who the next coach can be. Hope is our job.

I think if you put a good coach in Brewster's spot, the Gophers are immediately going to be better.

Look at Mason's teams. Supposedly less talented than Brewster's teams yet I think there was a good chance they would have beated this USC team.

Just hiring a "good coach" is not a strategy either. Every coach that is hired at any program is believed to be the guy that can move the program forward. And for our purposes that means taking the program up a notch or two, and not wallowing in the malaise that this program has been in for the past x number of decades.

I don't know if Brew is "that guy", but I can't say with 100% certainty that the next coach is either.

I'm on the side that believes that he should have this year to see if the team appears to be making strides, and next year is the measuring stick.

I agree with you, but when I say hope I just want a coach that can make a career here and if that is Brewster then so be it. It is getting frustrating to see this program start over with a new coaching staff every few years and I know it's not going to be an easy thing to obtain.
