Huskers two top kickers leave program

Kickers knew that Spielman was coming here and thought, "why should I stay on this team?"
 

Perhaps with all the amazing recruits and reading what the press says they just thought Nebraska would not need kickers this year.
 

The one that wants to play club soccer realized that's the better football team.....
 


I don't think their kicking game was any good last year, so probably not a huge loss

This was my first thought. Relatively speaking that can't be too huge of a loss. Kind of like when McDonalds had hot dogs but they were predictably pulled from their menu.
 

I am sure Ol' Frosty asked them to leave or pushed them out.

Oh for certain. I mean, why would a football coach ever want either of his top two kickers? As I always say, it's better to have no kickers than two. You can't play two at the same time anyway.
 



Maybe they will go to Australia and find a 30 year-old kicker.

That will top the Gopher Aussie kicker Mark Crawford who is I believe 24 years old.
