per Fox Sports:

For two years now, Penn State has tried to distance itself from Joe Paterno and the turmoil cast over State College at the end of his tenure.

The university tore down Paterno's statue and found a new football coach, who began by putting names on the Nittany Lions' jerseys and proclaiming a new time had begun.

The Bill O'Brien era has been mostly accepted at Penn State.

For whatever reason, however, there's a faction of Penn Staters who don't want to leave Paterno behind. So we get displays like Saturday, when some fans erected a vigil for Paterno's vacated wins.

Go Gophers!!

Really sad, pathetic. It's a good thing they have their priorities straight.

You would think at some point that some of those idiots at Penn State would want to turn the page on that chapter of their history. O'Brien's doing a nice job there, why don't they focus their attention on that.

Bleed, do you think it's going be a "Sons of the Confederacy" thing in State College? In 150 years will they be saying that Sandusky was an NCAA plant?

Like the union jack in the South...it represents far more about what was wrong than what was right.

Someone doesn't like those dang Limeys....

Getting stuck in the denial stage is what happens to some simple minded people when the most important thing in their life turns out to be a farce. More than sad, pathetic.

Completely agree. And they were up in arms about Emmert characterizing them as having a culture problem. Well, when you have entire groups of people literally looking for the images of JoePa in the clouds to go along with vigils for vacated wins, you have a culture problem.

This really sums it up.
