Huge injury news for Rutgers.

Anything can happen in a B1G road game and Rutgers had the bye week to prepare, but I’m feeling really good about MN coasting to victory late in this one. RU has so many injuries, MN is health and playing fierce on D, and the O is running the ball better the last couple weeks.

Wow....that is a massive loss for them because he has basically been their entire offense all season. Basically the equivalent of us losing Mo Ibrahim when he was here.

Anything can happen but without Monangai it would be a massive disappointment if we lose this game and we would have to play really poorly to do it.

Bury them early—play with temp on offense and open with man coverage on defense—no soft zone. That’s how a team aiming for a top five Big Ten finish proves its strength.

As you'll recall, Minnesota did pretty well running the ball in the aftermath of Mo's injury in the first game of the season against OSU. Also recall that MN went through a thing with running backs like Spinal Tap did with drummers (or the Grateful Dead with keyboard players) that season as they kept dropping from injuries until we were down to two freshmen: Ky Thomas and Bucky Irving. They turned out to be great. Too bad we can't have an offensive line like that one every year.

Mo had 160 when he went down against OSU not sure what you’re talking about there. Let’s keep the foot on the gas pedal and bury these slugs. Not sure PJ has that in him, but he needs to continue changing his best like he has done so far this year.

Not sure what you're talking about either. No one said he didn't do great against Ohio State. The point was that our running game wasn't a disaster for the remainder of the season after his injury. In fact, it was very good.

Actually, it didn't. Line from my bookie has moved from -6.5 to -6. 🤷‍♂️

OK, yeah -assuming oddsmakers didn’t have inside knowledge or pre-cognition feelings of the situation - it greatly improves our odds. A healthy Monangai is a really good player/game changer.

The line at -6 is interesting, regardless (I only make lunch bets, don’t follow this stuff)

I have no doubt they have capable backups but they won't be on the level of Monangai because he is a true star RB.

Nothing changes, we still have to play well to win but this is a massive loss for their offense and it will put even more pressure on Athan to win the game for them which is good news for us and our secondary that is very good at picking off passes.

Yep, read it in a hurry and wrong.

MN couldn’t run well against OSU after the injury. The rest of the year was strictly average on yards per rush, Fleck just ran a lot. Mo had a way of getting the tough yards the others couldn’t.

That is huge news. Not sure what their depth chart looks like behind him but he is 60% of their rushing yards and rushing TDs.

I'm guessing this had to be mentioned in Schiano's injury update from Sunday. Amiright??
