Man the bubble is terrible, NW beat no one outside of Michigan St. all year. They still are in first four out according to Joe Lunardi with a 18-13 record. There is 0 chance they get in the tourney though now.

I agree. And really, after this win, I don't think the Gophs are that far behind the cats.

Minnesota
RPI = 90. 19 - 13 overall. SOS = 43 (Before tonight) 4 - 9 (vs top50) 2 - 2 (vs 51-100) 5 - 2 (vs 101-150) 3 - 0 (vs 151-200) 5 - 0 (vs 201+)

Northwestern
RPI = 47. 18-13 overall. SOS = 12 (Before tonight) 1-10 (vs top50) 4-3 (vs 51-100) 5-0 (vs 101-150) 4-0 (vs 151-200) 4-0 (vs 201+)

Both have 1 real signature win and the Gophs have beaten the Wildcats 2 out of 3 times this season.

Gophs on the road against Indiana (Only team to beat Indiana at home)

Northwestern at home against MSU.

What do you guys think?

There's more than a zero chance they get in the tourney, but... this all shows how silly the RPI can be. Northwestern gets a bump because they lost to Baylor and Creighton while Minnesota played crappy nonconference opponents.

What have they done to show they belong in the tourney?

I agree about RPI the Gophers have a better record, more top 50 wins, more top 100 wins yet have a considerably worse RPI.

Still, the Gophers were 6-12 during conference play. Just 2 more wins and a run in the BIG tourney would've been good enough.

"blah blah blah blah blah, their RPI blah blah blah, injuries blah blah, different team w/a healthier Cobb, close games la la la, Big Ten top RPI conference blah blah.. Shurna, blah blah, etc"

It could happen.
