Was on the "other" site and read that beating Nebraska starts with playing 8 in the box and forcing Armstrong to throw.
Must be that often, particularly when they lose, he's just not good at it. Last week he went 6 for 18 with a TD and INT and only 64 yards. He "rushed" 20 times for only 17 yards and a TD. A little deceptive because yards lost on sacks are taken away for rushing totals, but it also means that plenty of defenders were there to stop him when he did.
Couldn't/wouldn't post anything beyond the "8 in the box" mention so found this in a story about the Wisconsin/Iowa game. Sounds like the Gophers will focus on the run against the Huskers and they'll face an "8 in the box" defense when they finish the regular season against the Badgers.
Shrouded by the mayhem of Gordon’s historic day against Nebraska was the play of Wisconsin’s defense, which held the Cornhuskers to just 180 yards of total offense and forced five turnovers. Despite the Badgers’ impressive showing against Nebraska and their standing as the top defense in the nation (244 yards allowed per game), defensive coordinator Dave Aranda is concerned with the challenge presented by Iowa’s running game, led by the 6-foot, 240-pound running back Mark Weisman.
