I saw this in another post about the Claeys-Limegrover press conference yesterday. This is Coach Limegrover on his offensive line health:

"Optimistic about getting anyone back on the O-Line? I'm always optimistic. I take it day by day. At the same time, the guys that we've had have been warriors and have fought their tail ends off. If they tell me someone's healthy, we'll roll, but otherwise, like in Hoosiers, that's my team out there. "

Um . . . in "Hoosiers," Gene Hackman says that when he is only playing four guys, because he is so mad at one player not following instructions that he wants to lose the game and teach the kids a larger lesson about teamwork. I'm kind of hoping that's not in the game plan for Saturday night!

He did follow up with, "althought I don't know if i'd be allow to play with 4 lineman..."

I never believed Hackman wanted his team to lose. The point, IMO, was he was more confident in his chances to win if 4 guys were doing it his way, than 5 guys on the floor and one of them doing his own thing. Perhaps Limegrover didn't choose the perfect analogy, but the message works for me: "we'll coach up the available guys and have confidence in their ability to do the job."

Let's retitle this thread how not to criticize someone who makes a movie reference.
