Also, I was at the Gopher-Boiler game at West Lafayette in October 2011. We were in the visitors section, and fairly (very) close to field/ground level. The disparity in physical size that Purdue had over us was pretty striking, and made me quite nervous for the rest of the year. Additionally, it helped explain a lot of other things I was wondering about - including the embarrassing losses to some of the non-Div IA opponents that year and in 2010.

However, and as an aside . . . that same game also gave me optimism in that our guys were playing hard, and did not quit, even well into the 2nd half when the outcome had long been determined.

Just one year later, we soundly defeated Purdue at home.

We have witnessed other evidence of progress - albeit incremental and staggered. I for one believe the trajectory is even upward from here, assuming a couple of key things.

The worm is turning, methinks.

Really goes to show Brewster didn't have a clue about how to build a program.

lol Hindsight is always 20/20.. Wow, cringeworthy depth in those days.

You can't go into a Middle Tennessee game with a depth chart like that, due to the heat and humidity.

Crazy to think before this game we were thinking Matt Garin starting as a rFR man he will be star and some prob said the next Willie V for the next 4 years and knowing what actually happened...

You could make an argument that pretty much everyone on that list ranked a 3 star or better never came close to living up to expectations. There were flashes of brilliance though.

Let me tell you how naive we have been. Jerry is shaming us into being better posters. I mean, the guy is doing phenomenally well. What can I say, I feel the shame every day.
