How many wins do you think Kill needs in 2012 to be successful?

Assuming we are for the most part healthy, I say 5-6 and then 7-8 in 2013.

It really depends. If we had won 3 but they were against ndsu nmsu and Miami it wouldn't have been as good of a year last year.

They need to not have any games like Michigan/purdue last year.
They need to not lose to any terrible or FCS schools.

For 2012,
4 or less would be disappointing
5 would be acceptable
6 or 7 would be success
8+ would be beautiful but very unlikely.

I expect 5-7 in 2012 and more in 2013.

Enough to get us to at least a cheesy bowl game - and after the last few years that is solid progress.

Pretty much agree with this. I would also say that we need to be getting better throughout the year for it to be a success in my eyes.

4-5 wins would be an improvement. Everything else will be gravy.

Pretty much agree with the guys from Iowa and Cheers. Being the second year of a huge rebuilding project there will also be a subjective factor; improvement during the year in on field discipline/execution and promise for the future.

Free beer for Dr Don and Norm.:drink::drink:

I am going to drink an extra beer for each game we win. 1st win, 1 extra; 2nd win, 2 extra; I actually hope to drink 12 extras at the end of the last regular season game. Anyone wanna join me? :cool02:  :drink:

Anything less than three nonconference wins would be disappointing. Hopefully we can take all four.

I think a 6-6 season is a fair expectation.

Shame on you! You will do anything to drink 12 beers!

6 I think it's going to come down to QB and wide receiver play. Our passing game and wide receivers were awful last year. If we can have a better passing and receiving game with better decision making from the QB position we'll win 6 or 7 and be in most games.

I'll use the same standard that I use for every season, for every sport:

Win the games you should, steal a couple that you shouldn't.

Too early to tell right now (for the most part) which games on the schedule fall into either of those categories. That being said, if they go 4-0 in the nonconference, I think they win 7 games. 3-1 in the nonconference, I think they win 5 games.

With the softer nonconference schedule this year (no certain losses like USC), 6-6 certainly would be a low-end benchmark. That means either 3-5 or 2-6 in the Big Ten.

I agree with your two points. If we do that, we should have a successful season and make a bowl game.
