I was just wondering if anyone had an estimate or knew the total amount of tickets sold to Minnesota fans for the MTSU game. It's always nice to know if you're going to have a good opposing crowd or not. I hope a lot of Minnesota fans travel for it! It's more fun that way! If you are traveling, have a safe trip and I hope that you will enjoy Murfreesboro! :D

Sweet! That's a pretty good crowd, especially from Minnesota. We were expecting this game to be sold out, but now that Dasher isn't playing, I think it will be crowded, but not sold out. My estimate for total is about 28,500.

+2 fans

Well, I am in Chicago right now and will be heading to the North Ave or Oak Street Beach in 1 hour, then tommorrow I am heading to Nashville.

I have not been a fan of the coach, but I am looking forward to seeing some fast, hard hitting defense, and a running game with some big play action downfield to 83 and 11.

A logistics question for Dance4Raiders

If I meet up with other gopher fans at Coachs Grill should I just park their for the game or find something closer?

Walking from coach's grill to the stadium would be just shy of 2 miles...

Well that answers that. Sorry, I guess I could have mapped it.

The choices to sit and eat and drink walking distance from the stadium are extremely limited. Coach's grill is a decent choice. It's in a bad location, that was I think four different restaurants in the seven years I lived in Murfreesboro, but has been Coach's for probably two years or so now. Make sure to order the corn nuggets.

I wish I was able to make this trip. When it first showed up on the schedule, it didn't look like a very attractive matchup. However, knowing that Tennessee is a beautiful state and seeing the hospitality of Raider fans on this board, it sounds like it would be a great trip. A few weeks into September would have worked on my schedule, but not late August. I hope the Gopher fans who travel represent well, travel safely and enjoy their time with their hosts at MTSU!

I would recommend getting on Google maps and I'll give you two routes to use to get to the stadium.

#1 This one will have you driving a little less and will put you closer to the student tailgating and give you more of an opportunity to walk through campus. From Coach's take church street towards the square and take a right out of the square onto E. Main. From Main take a left onto Highland and then from Highland take a right onto Bell(just before the hospital) on Bell there will be a parking lot on your right just before you run into MTSU boulevard. You can park there, cross the street and be directly on campus a few hundred feet from student tailgating and a very short walk from the stadium. I cannot guarantee there will be spots available there, but if you'd like to see more of campus, this is the way to go. The lot I'm referring to is #5 on the map at the bottom of this post.

#2 Follow the exact same route, but rather than turning right onto Bell street, go one light further, just past the hospital, and turn right onto Greenland. Your first light on Greenland will be MTSU boulevard(you'll be able to see the stadium) go straight through that light and then straight through the second light(Champion Way which turns onto campus) and then the large parking lot where visitor parking is usually designated will be on your right. On the map there are two #6, this lot would be the #6 that is the furthest right of all the numbers. You can park there and walk back towards the stadium. On this walk to the stadium you'll be walking through more of the alumni tailgating.

Of course, parking in either location, depending on how much time you give yourself, you can easily walk around campus and take in both tailgating areas if you so desire. As a young alumni, I usually go back and forth between the two areas a couple of times each gameday as I have lots of friends on both sides.
