In the first half, Chip had three, Ralph had one, and Trevor had one (thanks totally to inept officiating) and that's just off the top of my head. In the second half, Rodney missed a dunk and Chip missed a 4th one. What's worse is that several of these plays turned in to 4 point swings due to run outs the other way.

Can ANYONE miss a free throw against the Gophers? At last check, Illinois was 21-25 from the line and the Gophers were 10-17.

Was there a bigger stretch in the game then Blake missing those two great looks on the same possession that would have pushed the Gophers lead to 7? I felt it was huge when it happened, and I don't believe the Gophers never were up by 4 or more with the ball the rest of the game.

Why was Maverick playing so much in a critical game? I can understand a few minutes in the first half, but WAY too much Maverick in the 2nd half of a game that had plenty of TV timeouts.

Unfortunately, this team needs Blake's scoring output. Blake has not been able to score while also taking on the bulk of the ball handling. Hence, the need for Maverick to play some PG. Not an ideal situation, obviously...

If you include Trevors misses that he then made on his own rebound and a couple of put backs that didn't go...I counted 10 missed bunnies.

Free throws will cost this team every close game this year. I honestly can say this is the worst shooting college basketball team I have ever seen - and it isn't even close.

As for Illinois - they won the game on the line. Take McCamey out of the equation and the rest of the Illini roster shot 19-20!!!

Gophers get outscored by 13 from the line with Illinois shooting 85% and the Gophers 59%. Seems like this is the case every game. Similar FG% similar 3 pt % and our opponent DESTROYING us from the charity stripe.

Agree completely on all this.

Also, Hoff should NEVER come out of the game, Armelin needs to play more, Iverson needs to man up and play with some toughness, a Williams and Hollins and Ahanmisi should be splitting time in the (#6 to #8 spot in the rotation), as they've all been too inconsistent this season to get as much playing time as they do. Finally, Williams and Ahanmisi should NEVER be on the court at the same time.

We have to face the facts...Tubby has assembled a team of brick-layers! This team has the worst collection of shooters I've seen in 40 years of following Gopher basketball. Try as he might, Tubby can't do anything now but watch the season slip away.
