How do the final ranking go ???????

Are the top four schools in the playoffs guaranteed to be in the top four? Or can teams like TCU who really kick butt move into the top four is some of the top four teams do not make a good showing? Finally ... is the committees only job to get a top four and they have nothing to do with the final rankings?

Committee rankings are done. AP and coaches have final polls after bowl games. No obligation to have playoff teams be 1-4.

No need for the committee as merging the coaches' and AP polls gives provides the same four playoff teams - and the committee's weekly rankings were almost indistinguishable from the other two, week after week.
