I told him something Tom Jurich told me and that is something along the line of this: "the #1 job of an AD is to take care of the breadwinners, football and men's basketball. Without those, there is no funding for other sports. That being the case, in my wallet I keep a list of 5 football and 5 basketball coaches who I would be interested in having come to U of L and who I know have mutual interest in coming here. If I ever need a coach, whether one isn't working out, or one leaves, I can act quickly and decisvely to fill the role of the leader of the program."

Impossible for Joel to have the same philosophy if he hired Brewster after never even hearing of him two weeks prior to hiring him.

Although I wish I would have mentioned the whole, not allowing the band drummers to play in the tailgate lot thing instead. I mean, if we're not going to allow something as asimple as that, then don't even bother sending a survey. That is such a no brainer.

I told him to ignore the morons in GopherHole who think they have all the answers for managing a Big 10 Athletics Department because most of them couldn't manage the day shift at White Castle without help.

I had the same idea of I was a big school AD except I would have in an manila envelope in my desk under a bottle of Johnny Walker.

LOOK AT ME! I'M SMART!!!o!!ne!! LAM!!

What's so wrong with the OP that you feel the need to be a d-rocket to him/her? If you think the folks here are that stupid, go someplace else. Lastly, if you're going to call people morons, get your own capitalization rules straight.

Dude didn't D-Rocket me.

The athletic department just sent me a survey and one of the quesitons was, "If you could tell the AD one thing, what would it be?"

Apparently this guy believes the U likes spending money and time asking questions only to chose not to listen to the answer. Oh wait....

In any case, the guy's reply just shows that he is neither a donor nor a season ticket holder. This is very shocking considering his well thought-out post and provides some context for his opinion on how to run a White Castle.

He probably struggles to keep his White Castle in order and is trying to belittle others to help his insecurity.

I like his specificity. Is the day shift more difficult to run than the night shift? Maybe we are all fit to run the night shift, but in his expert opinion, we come up just a tad short for the day shift.

UpNorthG04, will you please tell me which shift is more difficult to run? I could make a case for it being either one, and now I just gotta know.

In case you guys haven't been paying attention I am the No.1 Maturi supporter in GopherHole. If anyone starts a thread intended to rip my guy I am going to weigh in with my own comments. This is an internet message board where everyone gets to have there say - is it not? I have been here a long time and am not going away anytime soon. You should probably try to get used to it.

You have a right to state your opinion. I'm not a short-timer here either. If you call people morons, you can expect me to call you a d-bag. Deal?

"I have been here a long time and am not going away anytime soon. You should probably try to get used to it."

Is that what you told the day shift employees of the White Castle you run (quite expertly too I might add)?

I guess I can chalk up another victory. This anti-Maturi thread has become unreadable after only 10 posts. It usually takes longer.

Yes!! You are once again victorious. A perfect record. Nobody, and you mean nobody, will ever question Joel Maturi. Not even himself via an e-mailed survey. Not if you have anything to do about.

How do you do it? Not only do you run one of the tightest night shifts White Castle has ever seen, but you've also successfully impaired everyones right to talk about your man, your idol, maybe even your soulmate, Joel Maturi.

How does he do it ladies and gentlemen?

QFT. people on this site... man.

I would tell him.

"Being a man who had been through this process once before, you should have known better. Handling that Brewster firing press conference could have been done much better. You should have been preparing for it as you and the entire state was aware removing Brewster was going to happen, it was just a matter of time."

"With that said, you had time for preparation you should have never over promised at the beginning of the search. I like Kill, but you had our hopes way higher."

I would tell him... "I hope you enjoy Yogi Bear in 3D."
