With UConn going to a BCS bid and the vast majority of internet savvy Gopher fans believing Edsall was the guy, how did the "U" not leak that it wasn't Edsall? If a "U" guy leaked the Fedora news to throw people off and there were leaks about Hoke being a tier 2 guy, how in the world did they not get out the message that it wasn't going to be Edsall? It wasn't like Edsall was going to set the fan base on fire, but they had to know that Kill was a tougher sell. It doesn't make the end result any less disappointing, but it really illustrates how tone deaf Maturi, Mona, et al were during this process.

Maturi had a job to do, and that was to protect Kill. Horton told you there was smokescreens, so I guess everyone learned their lessons. Maturi had to find his guy, and then keep it sealed to protect a coach who was competing for a conference championship. I might be wrong, but didn't the Edsall talk start yesterday? You think they're calling Maturi out of the bat man cave, " Hey jmat, we got a bunch of people that are following this second by second on the internet that believe it's this other guy, what should we do."
