They tweet the new coaches name and he is front and center at tonight's basketball game.

I think that's a great idea. But I worry we're giving the marketing minds at the U too much credit.

I'd like to believe they've got their guy since they've got this communication plan in place--- but who knows?

I was thinking the same thing about taking advantage of the ESPN2 stage tonight to grab some free publicity. All the news, rumors coming out today leads me to believe we are very close to getting our new coach.

The only franchise I've ever seen pull something off like this is when the NYY announced that Clemens was coming back several years ago shortly before one of their games. I wished that Brett Favre would've announced his comeback at a Twins game, or something similar to that. Generally teams aren't able to keep things that quiet for that long to make it a true surprise at another game.

Jim Rome still plays the clip of the Yankees female radio voice (Susan something?) freaking out when Clemons came out. Makes me laugh every time.

I was at Williams in December some years back when some guy in the crowd starts yelling we got Lou Holtz. That was 80s social media and hardly precedent for anyone else but it would be nice to learn about the new hire during a hoops game again.
