Rumors talk. Horton talked about Alvarez influence on Miami job. He also thinks most of the names out there for Gophers job are a smoke screen.

Listening to the show has me thinking that Chryst is more likely to end up at Miami than Minesota. My thinking is, that Chryst is due to become a head coach sooner or later, with Chrysts loyalty to Wisconsin I don't see him taking another B10 job. Add in Alverez's connection to Shalala it's easy to picture Chryst in Miami far away from the B10.

I heard the interview, and my impression is that Horton thinks that they may have already found their guy, that's why he thinks a lot of names are a smokescreen, but on the other hand he did say that if things fell through with the leading candidate he would like to talk to Maturi about being retained.

He said Maturi has asked to talk to him about presumably a season wrap-up but Maturi has been too busy now with the coaching search.

He also mentioned that the staff will get paychecks through Feb. 15th.

They probably have someone targeted. Whether they are able to get him or not is another story. I would have to think they are trying to find someone the new Pres would approve of just out of respect for him.
