What a slate of games scheduled to start the 2016 season!

Auburn and Clemson just announced today that they will play in the season opener. Other games of prominence include Alabama-USC, LSU-Wisconsin, UCLA-Texas A&M and Notre Dame-Texas.

Best part for us Gopher fans is that our game will be out of the way to watch all of Saturday's games as the U hosts the Rodentia Bowl 2 days prior against Oregon State.

Geaux Tigers!

I would to see the Big 10 take on at least one power team, a team normally in the top 15. For instance why not Ohio State home and away with Oklahoma. Michigan State this year against Oregon, why not a home and away with Florida State. The Team to the East vs. LSU is just about right. The Team to the South how about home and away against Baylor. Penn State by 2016 home and away with Alabama. Nebraska has Miami right now, but home and Away with USC. Michigan home and away with Texas. Minnesota home and away Virginia Tech, Northwestern home and away vs. Duke. Indiana home and away vs. Tennessee. Illinois home and away vs. Kansas.

Penn St played Alabama in 2010 and 2011. Wisconsin is playing Alabama in 2015 and LSU again in 2016. Ohio State plays Va Tech this year and next. Nebraska plays Miami this year and next. Michigan plays Notre Dame every year and has Florida in 2017. Northwestern has Notre Dame and 2 games against Stanford in the next 3 years. (They also have Duke in 2017 and 2018, but Duke is likely to be terrible again.) In general, the Big Ten is playing several good teams every year.

The lower division teams will never get consistent matchups against top 15 teams because there's nothing in it for those teams.

Michigan and Notre Dame play this year, but the series looks like it will be on hold until at least 2020 after this year's game due to Notre Dame having to play a certain amount of ACC teams every year now.

Also Nebraska has a home-and-home with Oklahoma for 2021 and 2022.

Minnesota vs. Oregon St. should be a fun series.

"Rodentia Bowl" - I like it!

why not Ohio State home and away with Oklahoma.

That happens in 2016 and 2017.

Penn State by 2016 home and away with Alabama.

That just happened in 2010 and 2011.

Illinois home and away vs. Kansas.

Illinois is home-and-homing with Washington this year and last.

The Team to the South how about home and away against Baylor.

Iowa is finishing up a home-and-home with Pitt this year, and has done Syracuse and Arizona and Arizona State within the past decade; and does ISU every year.

Basically, most Big Ten teams already do a good series. Minnesota has TCU and will have others in the future.
