This is such a wacky Gopher football year. There is potential to be undefeated at home and winless on the road. Please please please beat Northwestern and Wisconsin to preserve half that possibility and destroy the other. After all is said and done, I just don't think the Gophers will see this inept of a home B1G slate again for many, many years. I posted the following in a different thread but it is relevant here:

The Gophers have a decent shot at going undefeated at home this year. That would be the first time since 1967. That is a great accomplishment. That exceeds my usual expectations.

but

(there is always a but)

the undefeated home schedule would include wins over the following B1G teams:

18th place Purdue 0-6
17th place Michigan State 0-6
16th place Wisconsin 0-6
14th place Rutgers 1-5
12th place Nebraska 3-3

At this point in the season, that is a combined B1G record of 4-26. Granted 4 of those 26 losses to this point were at the hands of the Gophers, but again, 3 of those four were by the skin of the Gopher's two buck teeth.

What a weird year to get a home slate of opponents THIS BAD. Credit to the Gophers for turning them all (so far) into wins, but it is unlikely we will see a home slate of B1G teams this bad again for many years.

Very quirky year. Just don't blow it vs the skunks!

A list without Henry Williams home slate is not complete! Just kidding, fantastic research, thanks for doing this.

Fleck is a coach of "firsts"! First all win home slate since 1967 has a nice ring to it.

Go Gophers!!

Thanks for building this out. Fascinating.

I look at that list of Mason team losses and I just figuratively shake my head.

A lot of those were doozies versus Purdue and Northwestern with a number of OTs.

We were in the middle in those days too. Some things don't change.

Brewster's first season was the origin of the Bitter End Club.

Watching Weber in the brand new spread offense completing 3 passes for a 3 and out over and over just can't be imagined unless you watched it. Completion for 2...completion for 3...completion for 3...punt...and so on. Very exciting until it wasn't.
