I walked by the stadium and while I was watching the flags atop the goal posts flap in the wind I got to thinking. In the dome, IIRC, depending on how the coin toss went we would defend so that the opponent was driving toward the student section in the 4th quarter because it was the loudest end. So now do we have them drive toward the open end (presumably the windiest) in case they have to kick a game winning/tying field goal?
Also, to continue beating a dead horse, I think if anything the seats are the wrong maroon not the field. I'm not complaining because I think it looks fine, but they are slightly different and the seats remind me more of a Virginia Tech maroon.
