There used to be a day when the home team for the NIT tournament was the school that would seem to draw the largest crowd. I see that Tom Gola Arena(La Salle) only seats 4000 people, when did their home-court philosophy change?

The NIT is "under new management". They are actually seeding the teams regardless of geography or average attendence to make it a true tournament. They also now give automatic bids to teams that win their regular season championship - but fail to win the conference tournament.

I like that the better seed is rewarded no matter what...that said, La Salle's gym is about the size of my high school gym. Good news, there will be plenty of open seats...just no freaking parking!

yes, such a shame not to showcase Williams Arena yet again. This is a disgrace to send a big ten team into a 2200 attended crowd.

I think we played in front of smaller (or comparable) crowds at the Old Spice Classic.

Showcase Williams Arena? LOL!

If this game was played at the Barn attendence would probably < 4,000 so it really doesn't matter.

The better seed gets first choice... but the games don't have to be played there.

Mid-March & Minnesota is playing its first nonconference road game of the season.

Doggie cryed about the sme thing. Great minds think alike.

I believe there are high school state tournament games in Williams on Wednesday anyway.

well, showcase as in the arena, maybe not the fans. I shouldve clarified.

They still go by " who brings them in" in regards to the WBI. They gave the Lady Gophers a second seed and a home game. They'll draw their hardcore 3,000 to 4,000 fans at Williams. If the game was at Charleston Southern, you would have about 100 people. Southern was 17-14. Lady Gophers 15-17. This is the 3rd season for the WBI and a 16 team format.
