In a league where road games will be tough to come by, I find it interesting to track how teams do home and away slightly differently. For each home win, you get 0. For each home loss, you get -1. For each road loss, you get 0, and for each road win you get +1. Basically, a road loss and home win are expected. More or less and you get rewarded or penalized.
Here's how the top of last year's final standings would've looked:
Ohio State (+4)
Michigan State (+4)
Wisconsin (+3)
Michigan (+1)
Indiana (+1)
Through 1/20 this year, here are the standings:
Wisconsin (+2) 6 away games remaining
Michigan State (+2) 6 away games remaining
Michigan (+2) 6 away games remaining
Indiana (+2) 6 away games remaining
Ohio State (+1) 6 away games remaining
Minnesota (0) 7 away games remaining
Purdue (0) 7 away games remaining
Northwestern (-1) 7 away games remaining
Iowa (-1) 7 away games remaining
Nebraska (-1) 6 away games remaining
Illinois (-2) 7 away games remaining
Penn State (-4) 7 away games remaining
