Already 18 four star recruits! And all from the state of Texas.

Texas doesn't really need to go anywhere else for talent, to be honest.

But sometimes it is a real struggle to keep their kids home, just ask the man who recruited Vince Young...:D

In all honesty it is really just amazing to see the dispersion of recruiting in America or lack thereof. Here is the rivals 100 list by location

and Texas has a huge advantage in not really needing to drive more than a couple of hours to recruit much less leave their own media market. Though the online maps don't have the dramatic affect the original article had, this SI article from last winter was interesting if not completely daunting and worth a quick read if you missed it.

that has been mack brown's MO for a long time...get the verbals EARLY in the process, and threaten the kids that try to take their trips. they lock down in state talent and due a good job. but i think sometimes they limit their ability to get even better talent by doing this. they are not as good at recruiting nationally as the other big boys (carroll, meyer, stoops...)

Minnesota should have two pins - Henderson and Gjere.

Go Gophers!!

Once they realize the Jimmy G. has committed to the Gophers, he'll probably move down to 101.

The map is (and article) refers to the 2009 class.

The pin in MN represents some guy who decided to play for some minor program somewhere in the Southeast.
