Hohensee would have been the perfect guy for a multitude of reason, but I don't have time to type them out. I do think Horton was a good second choice.

Awesome. Thank you.

Hohensee would have been better than this loser Horton

gold04, you wrote the above on 1/19/2010 @ 1550 CST. You had over 100 hours to write out why Hohensee would be the best choice for OC. Get over it already. If there is such a thing as internet autism where someone cannot read the emotions (in this case words) of another individual(s) you might have it.

Hohensee will never coach outdoors. never.

One caveat: if he can get 10 years of experience on DII or CHampionship Subdivision, he may get a job at a BCS school. He'll be about 60.

Hohensee has never (on record) coached outdoors. What makes anyone think that he could suddenly be a BCS coordinator?

Moronic posts. Stop it. :horse::horse::horse::horse:

If Horton was a good second choice, did Hohensee really get jobbed then?

That's the second time you've claimed you don't have time to type out the reasons. Surely by now you would have had the time to type them out if you really did have any reasons at all. I'm beginning to think that this is just a running gag.

How out Tom Kelly? He did OK with the Twins, winning two World Series, after all. Baseball has 1) a ball, 2) throwing, 3) Catching and 4) running. I know, baseball is a radically different sport than is American Football. So is the Arena League.

I'd hire Hohensee to coach the Gophers if they got an Arena team.

With all the suggestions for a new Gopher OC, I find it amazing that Hohensee's name has not come up until this thread.

quick question on Hohensee. I realize that his name seems to get thrown out for every gopher job opening, but do we even know if he wants to be a college coach? With his track record in the Arena league, I find it hard to beleive that he wouldn't be able to get a college job if that's something he wants to do. I couldn't find any record of him holding any college jobs and imagine that he'd at least be able to land a DII/DIII HC job or a DI postion job if he wanted it. Is the only reason his name always gets thrown out there because he's a gopher? Does he get interviews for other college jobs?

This is the bottom line, if he wanted to be a college coach he'd be building the resume. Two years at a college job that is beneath his abilities is a small sacrifice for the bigger picture of his overall career. The fact that he isn't doing it tells me it's a direction he doesn't want to go in.

It appears he is potentially employed again anyway.

When Hohensee lost his job (technically the Arena league was just taking a break but it seems like the equivalent of losing your job) last year and the Gophers OC job opened up he lobbied for it. Who really knows if he wanted it because (A) he didn't have a job (B) it is a college job (C) it is a job at his alma mater.

I think the fans calling for Hohensee just think being an alumnus makes him the best candidate.
