Is that a record for Tubby at Minn? I don't remember anyone playing that many minutes before.

So much for spreading out all those minutes with all our depth.

BTW - why do announcers have such a hard time pronouncing his name? Last night at one point I think the guy just gave up and said 'whatever'?

Way to go Hoffber.

I Think 2008 Season Saw Minutes Like That, Not Sure

Hoffarber appears to have his 3-pt stroke back, hitting 42% behind the arc (so far).

He's a very heady player, even when he isn't scoring.

Highest total I could find in 2008 season. Several players got 35 minutes in various games that season.

We're such a better team when he's shooting well. Him and Devoe can be such a huge boost for us hitting 3s. I like a cold Hoffarber much better than a cold Joseph though.

i think the foul trouble that williams might have had something to do with that. as well as the need to defend a smaller team.

That's probably because Joseph seems to force it more than any Gopher, even if he isn't hitting anything (see shooting 3-10 Tenn Tech game, 3-13 SFA game, etc.). Not only are the shots sometimes forced, but they are taken at a terrible time (beginning of a possession during a momentum shift, right away before a few ball rotations, trying to go up over a double team when there is an open post on the low block, etc.)

But it's a learning process; Tubby will continue to let Devoe know what shots are appropriate...if he doesn't listen, he'll ride the bench. I admire his confidence to take whatever shot he thinks is there, but he needs to be a little bit smarter about his shot selection.

It's a fine line; you don't want a player being too timid, but you don't want them out of control, taking low percentage shots either. It seems Tubby prefers players who work within the scope of the offense and are more conservative with the ball, but we'll see how the year plays out.

I was surprised Cobbs didn't get a few more minutes. He played well when he was in the game.

Exactly. Way too often he takes a shot and I'm like noooo.
