I'm finally on board today because I skeptical that Belotti, Hoke, Golden, Mullen, Calhoun, or anyone at that level is willing to come here. I'm not sold on Sumlin (reminds me of Wacker) and will laugh if we hire Trestman. We supposedly aren't willing to consider a top coodinator like Gus Malzahn.
Where does that leave us? A Jeff Jagodzinski. At some point Maturi might need to crawl to Mason's front door with a bouquet of roses and an apology. I'd rather roll the dice with Leach. We'd be relevant and a new generation of Gopher fans will jump on board. Anyone noticed that the seats outside of the half empty student section looks like a AARP convention? If a home run hire is out of the question, then maybe Leach is worth a gamble. At least the program will be profitable enough to allow Maturi's beloved non-revenue teams to breathe a little easier.
