It's another M/W Border Battle!... best of luck Golden Gophers!

On, Wisconsin!

Yours wasn't the response I was hoping for, but it's to be expected in this heated rivalry.

Unfortunately not. I've always wanted to experience The Barn. I am looking forward to checking out new Target Field in May!

I hope the Gophs can pull it out, but I am betting on a Badger Beat-Down

Should be a great game. Despite some of the doom and gloom around the Hole about this season's hoops team, I fully expect Tubby's squad to show up for this one. If the Badgers start quick and are hitting their 3's they will be tough to beat. It could be a good "F You" game for the Gophs with fan morale being low and the "no one believes in us" mentality kicking in.

Then again, many are saying the players have quit on the season. If that's the case UW could win this one by ~10. Are tickets available? Worth heading to the barn and scalping a ticket?

Jon Leuer will be ready.

Lol. Leuer has one post move. Johnson with Purdue exposed him. As Leuer faked and spun Jujuan was simply standing with his hands up. Naturally, Leuer expected him to go for the fake and didn't know whether to sh-t or go blind when Johnson didn't move. The look on Leuer's face was priceless.

I don't recall the specific play you are talking about, but Leuer certainly had a tough game on offense against Purdue (2-15 from the floor). He did play the vast majority of that game with a broken wrist though.

Prior to his injury, Leuer was one of the most complete offensive players in the conference. He can score in the post, primarily off the turn-around jumper, he can also hit the 3, beat his man off the dribble, and make the mid-range shot. If you want to watch one game as an example of what he can do, the Michigan St. in East Lansing would be the one. He scored 21 of UW's 47 points, including 18 in the second half, and was the best player on the floor. I would not expect him to be quite up to speed yet on Thursday, but his presence on the floor will most certainly help UW. If nothing else, he will be someone Minnesota has to respect when he catches in the post, which should help open driving lanes for Hughes and Taylor and create more space for perimeter shots. Leuer will also help UW's defense, as he generally plays the ball screen better than Nankivil does.

I will be very curious to see how much Leuer plays on Thursday. I am obviously hoping he plays a lot, as UW's best lineup is Taylor, Hughes, Bohannon, Leuer and Nankivil. I am expecting Minnesota to play one of their best games of the season, so the Badgers will need to play well to come out with a win. Important game for both teams, should be fun.

man those grapes sure are sour.

ole

i will be very surprise if Jon gets off the bench,i think he will start playing on Sat at home.

Even if Leuer does not play, the possibility alone can throw Tubby off a little in terms of game strategy and prep. I hope Leuer will play so that there is be no excuse when we beat them. I am hoping for some controversial calls if we beat them. Nothing pleases me more than a few Badgers complaining about officiating. Hope we win and they give me the satisfaction on officiating. :)

Lol. I think Leuer is a fine player who is exactly where he should be. His post move is his bread and butter. He's very good at it and Purdue defended it very well.

Although I think the Badgers will win this one, I 'll bet the Gophers give them
all they want and then some. Despite the way the season has gone as of late
you can bet the Badgers will be glad to "escape" and get this one over with.

That's one more post move than our big men have combined. I am normally an optimist when it comes to Gopher sports, but based on what the Gophers have displayed this season, I am expecting nothin short of a Badger blowout win.

Gopher fans won't put up with lack of effort against Wisconsin. Not that we put up with it against a team like Michigan but if the team comes out and lays an egg and goes thru the motions against a rival like Wisconsin, watch out.

As a result, I expect the team to be pumped up to play. The Barn will be energized.
