Here is official NCAA 1-68 seed list. Looks like Gophers were very close to 10 seed

Oklahoma took the last 10 seed. We were the first 11 seed. Guessing Ole Miss winning SEC and thus forcing Florida to take up an at-large bid bumped us down to the 11 slot instead of getting a 10 or, although unlikely, a 9. So the outcome of that game did have some impact on how the final seedings were broken out. We likely would have remained in the South and would be playing San Diego State as the 10, although I am okay with the 11/6 UCLA match-up.

BTW - Looks like Oregon really did get screwed by the committee with their seed. Based on this they should have technically been an 11. They win the Pac-12 tourney, still get bumped to the 12 somehow. Pac-12 got no love. Guess the only good thing for them was they get to play in San Jose which is much closer to Eugene.

I had Oregon as an 8. I thought the committee might slightly award the team for winning it's tournament.
The committee lead was asked why were they were a 12, they said they were actually an 11 and got moved down during the bracketing phase.
Next questions should have been, why as low as an 11?

There seemed to be some inconsistency in what helped teams and what didn't.
Tournament performance helped WI but not Oregon.

Big emphasis was placed on "who you lost to" versus who you beat.
That hurt teams like Minnesota, as well as Virginia and Maryland who didn't get the bid.
