Who's your pick for the Heisman Trophy?

I'd go with Toby Gerhart from Stanford. He led the country in rushing yards and rushing TD's.

Kellen Moore from Boise St should also be in the conversation, 38 TD's, 3053 yards, 168.75 QB rating, only 3 int's.

I'm guessing after yesterday it will be Tim Tebow. I just hope he doesn't carve a Bible verse into the base of the trophy.

I know he won't win it, but in the games I saw, Ndamakong Suh from Nebraska was the best and most dominant player in the country. Numerous times this year he simply took over games in the fourth quarter.

After that, I would say Gerhart, particularly after last night's showing vs. Notre Dame on national TV. Again, I don't think he will win it as the game was over at about midnight ET and many voters probnably did not see it or any of his previous games.

So, to narrow it down to the guys who probably really have a chance, I guess I will go with Colt McCoy. Not necessarily because I think he is the best, but of the guys who probably will get the most consideration (McCoy, Tebow, Ingram) he seemed to have the best year. I was a fan of Ingram earlier in the season, but he did not do much against Auburn and 'Bama did not rely on him all that much.

Sadly, there is so much more that goes into the Heisman than just being the best player. Position, team's record, geopgraphy, school's reputation all play a large role.

Suh really is dominant at this level. I can't remember a guy his size who could probably play MLB.

It's irrelevent to the Heisman discussion, but I wonder if Suh's running mate at DT (I think his name is Crooks) is going to be a better pro. Suh is going to be among the first five players drafted, but I wonder if he's strong enough at the point of attack for his skills to fully translate at the next level. No question he's an absolute beast in college though.

Toby Gerhart

was fun to watch last night. Watching him brought me back to the Barber and Maroney days. I love the power running game even Ga Tech's offense is a blast to watch. Hopefully Brewster can follow through with his plan of turning us into a running team once again.

Depends on how Tebow and McCoy do in their respective championship games. Gerhart has played his last regular season game so he is at a disadvantage.
