I don't remember hearing Hayo's name ever being called during the bowl game. Did he play? Is there realistic hope for him in the future?

I remember him being in on at least one play in which the ball was thrown to him but the play went down as an imcompleation. Not sure what the future holds for him, we have a fair amount of depth at WR.

The second he got chased down by a Wisconsin defensive lineman 15-20 yards downfield he entered the pantheon of David Pittman and Rex Sharpe.

They threw to him on the 4th and 2 on ISU's 30 yard line. He never turned around to see the ball.

He never turned around to see the ball.

Wrong. Hilariously, he managed to look over his *sideline* shoulder on a wheel route. For those of you keeping score at home, that requires about a 240 degree turn. I'd never seen that before.

Did Florida really offer him?

I'm not sure if I remember correctly about Carpenter. Was he actually offered a scholarship by Florida, or did a waterboy just review his game film?
For a guy who had a lot of hype, I'm seeing a smallish, non-blocking, slow wide receiver.

The only positive thing about Hayo is that he might just be meaningful enough to be able to redshirt, most if not all, of our WR prospects coming in.

Yes, Florida offered, and he was heavily pursued by Urban Meyer, even after his commitment here. Obviously they were fooled by the film as well apparently.

Why was he in the game on 4th down again? More importantly, why was the play designed to go to him?

I imagine the play was designed to be thrown to him because ISU would probably put a safety or OLB on him, and he was actually fairly open. Weber threw an absolutely atrocious pass that no one, not even Randy Moss could have made a play on. If the ball got to him and he made a bad play, I could see ripping on him for that play. However, the ball looked it was thrown from a JV highschool QB.

Be nicer to JV high school QBs. They're just kids.

Hayo ran a terrible route. Hayo looked the wrong way. Hayo basically gave up on the play imo. The blame is on the OC. Maybe I'm wrong, but that is how I saw it.

Is this the play where Carpenter is running what looked to be a flag and Weber throws to the inside? The one where Mayock noted he was open and it was a bad throw (ball should have been thrown to the outside shoulder)?

The way I saw it (I certainly could be wrong too), was that Weber threw the ball a bit earlier than expected and it was terrible inaccurate. I thought Hayo was looking around because he knew the ball was in the air, but simply couldn't find it because it was inaccurate. Maybe Hayo adjusted to the ball poorly but I don't think anyone could have made a play on that ball.

+1

The pass was just turrible. I don't blame Hayo too much for that one.

Hayo

He will be a fine reciever if any of our QB's can get the damn ball to him. Amen.

I don't know if he can play, but on the recruiting trails there just aren't many opportunities to get a guy named Hayo on your team. Maybe Brew is a fan of Ed McMahon?

We needed some experience. Think about what we had coming into the year. Talent, but all unproven high school kids. Hayo was the perfect choice, just turned out allen was good, stoudemire was good, McKnight a star rising, and Green is himself. Whatchya goinna do.

It would of been funny as *&^!#*&^!#*&^!#*&^!# if hayo would of gone to florida, most of their d linemen would of been faster then him.

It was a embarassingly bad pass.....although on reply Weber ends up flat on his back after throwing it. Combination of bad offense/bad blocking/bad quarterbacking/bad receiving. Anything else?
