I don't celebrate when a kid gets hurt, but for everyone making their season predictions, Hampton is out for the season with knee surgery.

That is a huge blow to Iowa. Sorry to hear about it for Hampton's sake. Iowa has overcome runningback injury before.

This is how to properly relay the information that an Iowa RB is hurt.

Iowa could have the best OL in the BT. Hampton had a very good upside and its tough for a team to loose someone like him But even an average RB should do well.

According to whom? The Internet Morality Police? Are you the Deputy Investigator of Malicious Message Board Commentary? You rub off as a snide asshole who would seemingly be intolerable to be around in reality. I would probably have a beer with you:D.

This really sucks. I was looking forward to seeing Hampton run behind that cadillac of an offensive line. The other unfortunate thing is that this steals some of our glory when we get revenge in Iowa city. I had Iowa in the top three in the bigten, but without Hampton I think they drop down to 4-6. Hope he recovers.

WTF?

1) Like Handsome Pete said, WTF?

2) How would this steal any glory if we are to beat them in Iowa City? You may recall that our #1 running back took a redshirt in 2008 due to a knee injury. In the aftermath of the game I haven't heard a single Iowa fan feel bad about beating us when we were missing our #1 RB.

?

This really sucks.
I genuinely think it sucks to see any player injured.

I'm a fan of bigten teams and want to see all of the teams play at high levels, even Iowa. Iowa becomes pretty one dimensional imo without Hampton.

True, but I've heard many Gopher fans whining about our team being injured/tired after that victory. I'd prefer not to hear any excuses from Iowa fans after we beat them. Hampton getting injured gives them that. That's all, no big thing.

They can whine and offer any excuses they want if we have Floyd.

It's definitely a bad scenario for Hampton in particular and for Iowa's offense in general. Being that the Iowa/Minnesota game is the last game of the season and Hampton won't play a down for them this year, I would find it foolish for any Hawkeye fan to blame any loss this season on Hampton's injury. If he had been hurt in the 4th quarter of the Ohio State game the week before, then there would most likely be excuses made if Minnesota went to Kinnick and beat the Hawks.
No need to say that injuries are part of football and repeat the old "Next Man In" cliche, but I just did.
We'll see who else Coach Ferentz has and whether or not he can run the ball.

BTW, good luck against Syracuse this week. I'm eager to see the new stadium showcased against Air Force in prime time. Congratulations to you fans on getting your "own" stadium again. It will definitely help the Gophers (Boo! Not sure any good Iowa fan likes that...) and the Big Ten in general (Hooray!).

Wow, a logical Hawkeye fan?

I think this is a first. I usually can't get through an Iowa fan's post without a mention of 55-0 or some extremely dillusional Rose Bowl hopes for 2009.

Thanks for a nice change of pace!

+2, I think this is the first post I have ever read from a Hawkeye that I didnt read it and think to myself "what the hell is wrong with people from Iowa"

I have to admit I am sometimes guilty of being happy when an player on a bitter rival is injured. I can't tell you how many times I wished Brett Farve would stay down on the ground just once. But you must be careful what you wish for. Karma is a b***.
