Talk about Man up! Armed with a couple of layers of shirts and a fleece jacket, He braved the ENTIRE game at TCF! If an Arkansas native can do it, we should be able to.

DeltaHog was great! He helped cheer our Gophers to victory and taught me some awesome Razorback cheers as well. Hopefully I'll be able to make it to Fayetteville someday to attend a Razorback game....

It could have been warmer, but all in all a very good day in Gopherland.

I was wondering how his trip went. Good man for sticking it out! Glad he got to see a win too!

Thanks for visting DHog. I hope you enjoyed the city in general.

Thomas Tapeh's touchdown run to seal the upset over Arkansas in the 2002 Music City Bowl is still one of the best I've ever seen from a Gopher.

I'm trying to squeeze in one visit to an SEC venue each year while I'm in the South, so hopefully I'll get to Fayetteville before long.

DeltaHog's excitement for his visit was one of the best things on this board in the past few weeks. I hope he pops in for a visit a time or two.

Just for the record I am just now thawing out. Haha.
Great time. STP was a good host.

I still don't understand how you turn Minnesota, normally a 4 syllable word into a 1 syllable word in the cheer.

The trick is to shiver while you speak, it gives the effect of annunciation.

The poor guy happened to walk into a situation where we were getting RECORD cold and snow. It has stayed unusually cold for long enough now it is hard to believe our NORMAL highs should be in the high 50's and 60's right now.

I made it to them all...

Though Columbia was for Clemson-USC, I did also see Alabama at Birmingham, I saw UGA-GT as my Athens trip. I think it was worth it, excepting my being forced to watch some of them with Alabama fans. UGA-UF was a highlight.

DeltaDog, did you ever get a chance to try some lutefisk while you were up here?

No I didn't.
Don't think I want to.
Of course I had to google that.
Sounds comparible to mountain oysters.

Why would he want to?

Wild rice dishes and soups are the real Minnesota food items. There is a reason why making that stuff is illegal in most places in Minnesota. If you insist on the Scandinavian food b.s, Why not something edible like Lefsa? Some butter, or some jelly, or cinnamon and sugar, it's pallettable, especially for some one who eats another food item that needs other things to make it marginally ediable (Grits). I mean really, Fish reduced in Lye until it becomes Gelatinous?
I'm part Scots and I do go around acting like Haggis is some taste treat? No way.
This post is about 51-49% on the serious/ joke scale, use your own best judgement as to which is which.

Great work surviving, DeltaHog. Hopefully the next time you're up here for a game the temps are more seasonable.

DeltaHog, Spread the good word of Minnesota into the Down South, Help extend GOPHER NATION!!!!!! I have enjoyed your visits and thoughts as well, always good to get a friendly outside opinion from someone like you, especially because football is so much more important in the SEC world. I'm jealous as I have more than enough passion to match any SEC Fan! Good luck vs Florida!

Glad you had a good time and very wise choice on the Lutefisk!

How about returning the favor and putting-up about 42 points against the Gators this weekend?

Good call. I wouldn't eat it either. I'm not above suggesting it to unsuspecting visitors though. :D Although had you actually been interested, other people would have warned you away from it. My family is not one of the lutefisk eaters, but among those who do eat it, they don't eat it because it tastes good, they eat it because of tradition. Apparently, all the good traditions were used up.

Lefse is one of nature's most perfect foods, especially if you get it hot and fresh. Round lefse is generally better than square lefse. It has nothing to do directly with the shape, the square stuff tends to be machine made and rubbery. Lefse fresh off the grill, or at most wrapped in Saran Wrap by a little old scandanavian grandmother is a wonderous thing.

I don't share your love of Lefse....

But it is a thousand times better hot.

Oh man you are bringing back memories from my childhood. When I was a young the men would go deer hunting and the women would make lefse. The kids that were too young to hunt would sit in the house and play games so we were the first to enjoy lefse right off the griddle with butter and brown sugar. There are few things in life that are better than that. And yes, my grandma is a pure bred Swede.

Since you are a hunter, maybe you can tell Delta that we have some pretty good whitetail deer hunting up here.
