Harbaugh untouchable?

Just because he is asked does not mean he is going. Given his history, I could appreciate other teams, both NFL and College being interested in him. If Michigan became available, he might want that one.

I don't think most people thought he was untouchable, I think it is more the idea that when he goes somewhere else, it will be a better position than Minnesota. This is a guy who is going to get a ton of interest from the elite jobs in the country and will get plenty of looks by the NFL. So it's never been that he is untouchable it's just that his next job will be better than the U.

Yeah. Frankly I'd be nervous if some miracle were to happen whereby we'd hire Harbaugh, because if that were the case I'd just be waiting on pins and needles for him to move on elsewhere. It seems he's ticketed for bigger things whether in the NFL or college ball, which leaves me pretty doubtful that he'd stick around here for too long.

Preferably we can get a guy who's going to be here for awhile.

Folks, stop worrying about hiring a guy that may only be here for 2-3 years. If that were to happen, its likely that the guy would have pretty good success in those years. It may be enough to help change some the program's perception. While it would be nice to have someone like Harbaugh retire here, we need to worry about becoming relevant before we care about retaining coaches.

"Harbaugh untouchable?"

The only thing "untouchable" to me is my ex-wife. Yuck!

He's not untouchable. I doubt he's at Stanford after this season.

He's just not coming to Minnesota.
