The guys are 4-2 and 2-1, about where I expected to be. I thought it would be interesting to evaluate where we are "at" after 6 games. Going in, I felt 4 BT wins was likely but not a lock and and 6 or 7 W's. I also expected to see various young players develop as the season progressed and that the OL & DE play would be the weak link.

Above: LB's and ST's
What I expected: RB's, WR, TE, OL, SS, DE
Below: CB, QB, DT's

In fairness the to DT's, they have had their good and not so good moments but overall I expected more at this point due to the experience, depth and hype. DE play has been inconsistent as well but they have made some great plays when we really needed them. Injuries and suspensions haven't helped.

My hope was that the OL would be a work in progress and improve as the season progressed. That may be the case although PSU and OSU could easily make us look bad.

I really like the toughness and positive attitude the players have displayed. If our D can keep games close, we will have a chance.

After seeing the way Ohio State tossed around the Wisconsin line, I have a fealing that Ohio State is going to Beast out on ours.

For me, the DTs are better than I expected. It's the poor DE play that has hurt the tackles. We rarely see our DEs double teamed and that keeps the middle plugged up and more difficult for the tackles. We may see better play from the tackles moving forward because we'll have Onwuachi and McKinley back.

Onwauchi got a decent amount of reps yesterday, i think he'll contribute more and more. Plus these two games were huge for Jacobs. he showed flashes of great athleticism.

I wish we would have seen a little more play from our backup linebackers to better prepare the team for next year, but Cooper has looked very good. The O-line seems to be improving, albeit a painful process.

I had the gophs at exactly this point, so to me we're progressing according to plan. It would be nice to see more W's but we're still in a program building mode, and I think we're hitting the check marks to get us to where we want to go.
