Hageman and Vereen invited to the NFL Combine

Great news. Vereen is flying under the radar a bit with the average fan, but I think the scouts like him. He's a very good football player.

Not sure if you guys ever listen to KFAN or not but they have been having Vereen on frequently lately. Seems like a good smart kid. Graduated early with a good GPA. Talks like he has very good knowledge/understanding of defenses and should be able to learn new systems easily. He showed he could play both safety and corner. He had a great year. I can only think of once or twice I remember him blowing a coverage.. well once in the indiana game. Hope he performs well in the combine.

I was on the hate train of Hageman after the first two conference games. But he really stepped it up after that and changed my view of him. I still have questions about his endurance because he seemed to not play as much as I would have liked to of seen a "game changing player" play but he will have the "numbers" at the combine that drive scouts nuts and should benefit from that.

I love seeing gophers in the NFL. Decker is having a good couple years.

True. But those were freaky good players and Brock was young. Different story today.

i'm not ripping on the guy because he is one of my favorite players, but is he fast enough to play corner, or big enough to play safety?

In the first half of the game he got burned. He held Woods to minimal stats in the 2nd half.

I believe the pros are looking at him as a safety and not a corner and he's big enough to play the position. His experience at corner will likely help him, but I've always thought that he's someone who has played much better with the game in front of him from the safety position. I really think he has a shot to be a pretty good pro.
