Guess AV's comments about us being lucky the Big Ten isn't folding were right on.

We couldn't go .500 in the FCS, which is a pretty sad state of affairs. Mark me down as somewhat concerned with the coaching staff 1/3 through the year. When Tubby came, he instantly made a bad team better with almost the exact same lineup. Kill and company have yet to show me a well coached team. The first drive for NDSU leads to several 3rd downs in which we continously get called for penalties. Garin lines up offsides two plays in a row. That kind of thing is coaching. And I could care less if they take the blame. The preference would be for coaches that can coach up a team versus coaches who admit they f'ed up again for the 4th week in a row. The staff still has time. They still get to bring in their recruits and they still get to show that coaching well at non-bcs school = coaching well at a bcs school. Mark me down as concerned that this staff doesn't have what it takes.

Me and my buddy that have season tickets have agreed to two more years. If Kill can't win by then, Macturi will be proven to be a moron and I can watch us lose on tv. Anyone else concerned that year 1 of Kill = year 1 of Brew (aka 1 win season)?

To think we wouldn't go .500 in the FCS is beyond retarded. This is quite possibly the best FCS team in the country. And football is a hell of a lot different than basketball. Basketball is much easier to make quick coaching transitions. Football takes time. You need to walk away from the computer and cool down more before you come post on here. Kill's first season at SIU was also a one win season. Just wait it out.

Oh I'm waiting it out. I said he gets two more years of financial support from me and my family. After that, I'm done. I have better things to spend money on than what our University has been able to put on the field in the past 4 years. And I'm not sure .500 in FCS is wrong. We've lost to the worst FBS team at home, and now the 12th best FCS team at home. Imagine going on the road to play someone like Bethune-Cookman.

I agree with your overall vibe. Do you think Kill & staff told Gary to get your hands in that guys face? Or told Garin to line up offsides? I'm way more concerned with the leaky nature of our defense than the few specific plays you can remember.

I'm sure they didn't, but when it's 3rd and 4 and I see the guy lined up offsides, I wonder what the coaches upstairs are looking at? Who's not screaming for a timeout. And then when the guy lines up offisides on the next play after just being flagged, I'm all for cutting him right there. Granted I would be an awful coach. What's worse, the leaky defense or the stagnant offense?

I don't dig the overall vibe of this thread.. but you bring up a VERY good point and one that I agree with you on. And that is the bolded in the above quote. Underline for extreme agreement.

It's not like his helmet was over the ball.. His SHOULDERS were over the ball. Which means he was lined up over a foot PAST the F%#KING BALL. And after the flag (giving the Bison a giftwrapped 1st down after a nice 3rd down stop) he STILL lined up in the neutral zone?? F%$k you, kid. GTFO.

Now.

If we played the top 10 teams in the FCS, we would not win 5 .... or 4 .... maybe 3 ..... maybe.
